I am the mountain, proud and strong
I am the sparrow, full of song
I am the oak tree, reaching for the sky,
I am the cloud, floating up high.
I am the jewelweed, growing in the shade
I am the grass, the whole and the blade
I am the deer, perking up its ears
I am the river, without any fears.
I am the spicebush, with the fragrant smell
I am the fox, with the soft pelt
I am the wolverine, full of might
I am the owl, hunting at night.
I am the turtle, resting by the stream
I am the moss, growing on the tree
I am the rock, growing out of the ground
I am the wolf, hearing every sound.
I am the moon, in the night sky
I am the butterfly, fluttering by
I am the hawk, soaring in the blue
I am the human, born anew.
