Moon phase: Waxing crescent Weather: Chilly Witch hazel flowers (Hamamelis virginiana) in Rock Creek Park this fall. I'd been wanting to get pictures of these for a while because I need them for my herbal encyclopaedia, and I caught the flowers too late last year; the petals had already fallen off.
