Moon Phase: Waxing crescent
Weather: So nice

I don't even know what to say in regards to the hurricane...the images coming out of the Gulf region are just so horrifying. The news in the last couple of weeks has brought me to tears more than a few times. I can't imagine what the survivors went through, and what they are still going through....I always wanted to visit New Orleans, but I've never had the chance. I guess I might never...there's still argument over whether the city should even be rebuilt at all. I think they probably will in the end, but it will be years before it's back to recognizable form.

Of course, the crazies are trying to use this to their advantage. Even the AFA is printing some pastor's bullshit that this is judgment from God, and I had thought that they were a little more rational than the Westboro nutjobs. (By the by, the AFA called me up for a survey on religion and homosexuality once; by the end of the conversation I had managed to get the guy to admit that his logic was circular. But I digress.) My feelings on the religious aspects of this tragedy are pretty much summed up in my post on the tsunami.

Anyway, here are the rest of my photos from Canada, and the last two are from New York after we went through Niagara. I was going to post them sooner but Blogger wasn't working for me the last couple of weeks. I also have a memory card full of photos from this summer that I will hopefully get through at some point, and eventually some might find there way here.
